A great workout for beginners June 30, 2008

I bought this video a few years ago and I have always enjoyed using it. I used to find myself getting frustrated with the average aerobics video, with instructors who didn't take the time to explain the various moves, periods where the camera would show only the instructor's face so that you couldn't even see what she/he was doing, annoying people exercising in the background, etc.
Unlike previous workout videos I had seen, this one is great. The first part of the video explains the more common aerobics moves, going through each one in detail with lots of time to pratice doing it. Going through each exercise is almost a workout in itself. The next part of the video is a routine that puts all of the moves together. I find the instructor is knowledgeable yet down-to-earth. Different versions of the various exercises are shown (e.g. lower or higher intensity).
Even though I have moved past the beginner phase, I still go back to this video now and then as I still find it to be simple and effective.

I am a mother of two trying to get back into shape and I thought that this DVD was fantastic. For a beginner like me, the instructer was extremely easy to understand and wasn't annoying to watch. I like that there is a high intensity choice, but the low intensity is also great since I have a bad ankle and this workout is very easy on my joints. I always am in a sweat by the end, and it only takes 30 minutes (minus the cooldown). I think it's been a great place to start!
