From Amazon.com After having a surprise hit playing Dracula in Love at First Bite, George Hamilton seized the moment and spoofed another movie hero: Zorro. In fact, he plays two characters: the heroic Don Diego, who fights Spanish tyranny in Old California in his secret identity as Zorro, and Diego's long-absent brother, Bunny Wigglesworth, a man totally comfortable with his sexual identity and unafraid of accessorizing the Zorro outfit by rendering it in purple. When the swashbuckler is injured, he turns his sword over to the swishbuckler, who is just as good a swordsman, though a few shades less fiery. Some of the gay humor is heavy-handed, but Hamilton easily handles the comedy demands of the dual roles, and has strong support from Ron Leibman as the chief bad guy. --Marshall Fine

Campy and funny February 6, 2006 TND (Canada) The first time I saw this film I laughed out loud and subsequent viewings still make me chuckle. The characters are so over the top, but somehow it just adds to the appeal. Brenda Vaccaro is particularly memorable and her 'balcony' scene is a scene-stealer right down to the moment when her shoe gets caught on the railing. One of my favourites and still good campy fun.
Highly recommended June 19, 2004 Jean Heather Akins (Martinez, CA United States) I love this flick. Saw it in the theatre when it was released. Saw it again a few times on television. Recently purchased the DVD.I concur with the other reviewers here. Was a bit sad when it ended because I wanted to see more adventures of Bunny Wigglesworth!
Zizzling zorro April 1, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My family and I have watched this movie so many times that we can recite word for word. It is a classic. We never tire of it. Unfortunately we have it on the old Beta system and it is not to be found in Australia to purchase. I heard about Amazon and what a wonderful surprise to find it here. We have to go out and purchase a multi region DVD now to play the movie. It will be worth it though. Now I won't have to worry about the poor state of the video at the video shop. One of the Great Memories of the Eighties January 26, 2004 I was four when this film came out. I loved it then and I love it now. It's a true spoof classic up there with Naked Gun and Hot Shots! If you have an ounce of humor in you you won't want to miss George Hamilton twirling both his swords ( no pun intended ). Have fun and get this film.
If it weren't for cable... September 27, 2003 Jennifer Smith ...I would have missed out on so many great movies!! I first saw this on HBO when I was 12, and I thought George Hamilton was a "hottie". Funny men have always done it for me. Ask my husband. Anyway, I saw this movie last weekend...I'm now in my 30's...and it hasn't suffered any with age! George is still spectacular in two quite different roles; from virile, Spanish playboy to British, preening queen, he does not disappoint. The soundtrack is wonderful...borrowed, I believe, from "The Adventures of Don Juan". The genre is definitely screwball/spoof. You will laugh at the funny dialogue and probably enjoy the action of the fencing sequences as well. I recommend also viewing the original "Mask of Zorro" with Tyrone Power. It's illuminating to see where the "Gay Blade" crew got their inspiration...also interesting to watch Mr. Power playing a "fop". Enjoy! I did.
